The volume-weighted average price is where institutional size is actually filled. It's the benchmark desks are measured against — which makes it the line the market keeps returning to. Know where you stand relative to it, and you know who is under pressure.

Order Flow

Price tells you what happened. Flow tells you who did it. Aggression, absorption, and passive defence at a level are visible in real time — the difference between a break that holds and one that traps.

Concealment03

Iceberg Orders

Large participants hide size, showing a fraction and refilling as it's consumed. The visible order is the tip. Learning to spot the refill is learning to see the mass below the waterline — and to stop trading against it.

Robert Rother built his career on the institutional side of the book — managing $156 million for high-net-worth clients out of Shenzhen and Hong Kong, running currency and equity positions in the most competitive market environment on earth. He executed the size that retail traders spend their careers trying to read.

Then he lost everything — seven and a half years of it — and rebuilt from zero. He wrote a book about it that became a SPIEGEL bestseller in Germany: Drachenjahre ("Dragon Years"). Today he trades live in the room every day and teaches order flow as an official Bookmap educator.
